The journey through life contains different experiences, which can be challenging and distressing as well as wonderfully exciting. Looking forward can be difficult when today is tough. The future perfect tense refers to the completion of something in the future, from the present perspective - 'I will have...' - and is used here to remind us that we will get through things, we will achieve or we will recover from difficult experiences, albeit changed. We often recognise this when we reflect upon the past but forget to apply it looking forward.
